KAMADIA – A quick note on coronavirus, the potential recession, and the American election

Three very quick comments:

The emergence of coronavirus is most unfortunate. During this crisis, one can’t help but note that many of today’s political “leaders” have cut essential funding for academics/scientists. And they haven’t done so in a vacuum. Many have cut funding while often being happy to enrich themselves and the very wealthy people they often suck up to…

With regards to the American election, while results for Tuesday March 10th’s primaries are still coming in as I write this, Biden looks like he’ll be well placed to win the Democratic nomination after tonight. This is looking like a VERY steep uphill battle for Sanders (if not impossible)…

As far as the economy goes, I’m crossing my fingers in hope that if there’s a recession, it’s not too steep. If there is any sort of serious crisis, you’ll once again witness the utter incompetence of many political “leaders” around the world. Unfortunately, too many harbor an understanding of the economy that is less impressive than some teenagers I once taught in University. The most obvious example of such a “leader” being Trump and many of the morons surrounding him…
