Dear Readers,

At the time of this writing, the most recent Israeli-Palestinian conflict rages on. In this month’s issue, I give a brief comment on recent events, including the Israeli invasion of the third holiest Mosque in Islam.

In order to provide a variety of perspectives, as the Editor-in-Chief, I chose to include additional articles addressing the conflict by two other intellectuals – one of whom is a former Israeli foreign minister.

Another war on peoples minds is our battle against Covid-19. Given that many British scientists are warning that the Indian variant may become the most dominant, I’ve included a Q&A with a relevant expert.

Of course, most iDose readers are well aware that stopping Covid-19 requires global co-operation. Thus, I have included excellent analysis from a piece co-authored by Nobel Prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz, who thoroughly explains how dangerous corporate greed could stall our efforts to defeat Covid-19. This piece will be a delight to our many readers who enjoy long reads.

Finally, thanks to the many readers that have reached out to me. I sympathize with your good wishes and prayers for both the Israelis and the Palestinians.

But I want to suggest to our readers who find themselves living a highly privileged life that perhaps your actions might go further than good wishes and prayers?

Many iDose readers have the luxury of living in free countries with a vibrant civil society – as I do. For those interested, in next month’s issue, I’ll outline some steps you might consider taking if you want to have a positive impact on issues that might make you feel powerless.

And as always, feel free to email me with your comments and suggestions. They are always appreciated!

Stay safe,

Aly Kamadia
